Planvisage has successfully ported its SCM solution to new Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 on May 2007. With the new architecture, Planvisage SCM solutions have become more robust with improved performance and new look UI. Microsoft IIS web service has been used as the middle layer where all the business logic is embedded.
Planvisage SCM workflows have been tightly integrated with all the other modules like Forecasting, Replenishment Planning, Production Planning and Shop-floor Scheduling. A complete integrated workflow is shown below:
Planning module plans for sales orders, forecast orders and stock orders. Here work orders and procurement orders are generated automatically by taking into account material and capacity constraints
Orders generated during planning are scheduled on individual resources taking into account all upstream and downstream constraints
Scheduled orders are released to the shop floor based on the due dates
Once the orders are executed, they are closed and moved to history for analysis
Using history orders, customer schedule and management goals, forecast can be generated based on different forecasting techniques
Replenishment plan is generated which either generates forecast orders or sets a safety stock. This becomes the input for planning
By investing in Planvisage SCM solution, a company can expect average payback period in 12 months with improvement in the following areas:
Improved cash flows by increasing inventory turns by 50%
Better asset utilization by reducing the downtime by 20%
Lesser production cost by reducing overtime and expedite costs by 15%
